Chef and owner Iska Gener said all of his food is made from authentic Cuban recipes passed down in his family from one generation to the next.
Iska’s Secrets specializes in the Cubano—a Cuban sandwich with roasted pork, ham, Swiss cheese, pickles and mustard pressed in Cuban bread for $13. Another specialty Iska said he is particularly proud of is his Cuban bowls, which include rice, black beans and a side. Some of the Cuban bowls offered include Lechon Asado, made with slow, oven-roasted pork butt and served with Cuban mojo sauce; Ropa Vieja, which is flanked beef skirt simmered in a tomato-based sauce with Iska's secret spices; and Pollo Asado—a quarter chicken marinated with house-blended spices, red and green bell peppers, and onion—that is slow-cooked in an oven for four hours. All Cuban bowls are $13.50.
Other items on the menu include empanadas, yuca fritas and Cuban coffee.
