Travis County saw a slight dip in daily confirmed cases July 16, with 413 cases reported, but Austin Public Health reported five new deaths.

Today's case numbers brought the area's seven-day moving average number of cases down to 445.6 after a multiple-day plateau of over 500 daily cases.

There were 62 new patients hospitalized with COVID-19 in the Austin Metropolitan Statistical Area as of July 16, with a seven-day moving average of 70.6 new admissions.

Currently, 458 Travis County coronavirus patients are hospitalized, and 148 of those are in intensive care units.

In total, 189 Travis County residents have died from COVID-19 during the pandemic, and there have been 16,983 total cases.
