The gist

Sectioned just to the right of the main entrance, the axe throwing space has seven lanes for guests to try throwing axes on target or challenge themselves with various axe throwing games. Axe House staff give guests a tutorial on axe throwing before guests can participate.

The impact

Mann, who has been a business owner for 20 years, said opening the Axe House serves as a way to give back to the community she has become a part of after coming to Dripping Springs from New Jersey three years ago.

“I feel like transplants come to a place and say, ‘Let me see what I can get out of this place,’ but I tell my kids, ‘Leave it better than you found it,’” she said. “Being a small business owner is one of the ways to go about that.”
