South Austin residents will soon be able to order from a new fast-casual Mexican restaurant chain.

Taco Palenque is slated to open on the I-35 frontage road by Slaughter Lane next year. The restaurant will open near a Floor & Decor store in Meadows Crossing.

The details

Construction on the new building began in early October, according to a company representative. This will be the first standing Taco Palenque in South Austin. The company serves takeout and delivery out of GhostLine Kitchens in East Austin.

Taco Palenque is a Laredo-based fast-casual restaurant chain serving breakfast tacos, enchiladas, burritos and more. Since its opening in 1987, it has opened locations across South and Central Texas.
