Youth culinary school Young Chefs Academy will open in South Austin this summer.

The business is locally owned by husband and wife Jim and Sarah Gagliardi. They will offer weekly classes, workshops, summer camps and parties. They also own the San Antonio location of Young Chefs Academy.

The school will have two classrooms — or kitchens — with cooking equipment students can find at home. Sarah said the membership-based weekly classes will allow students to earn badges and improve their cooking skills to earn a “master chef designation.”

“They're not going to be learning on fancy machines or fancy gadgets,” Sarah said. “They're going to be learning skills that they can take right to their own home kitchen.”

Enrollment for culinary camp and memberships at Young Chefs Academy are open on the business’ website.
