Japanese dollar store Daiso is slated to open in Sunset Valley this spring.

"We are thrilled to open our store at Sunset Valey marketfair in Austin," said Jack Williams, Daiso chief retail operations officer, in a news release. "This achievement reflects the dedication and support of our customers who have embraced Daiso's unique concept and diverse product range."

The new store will be around 10,000 square feet and will offer Daiso's classic offerings, including:
  • Home decor
  • Stationery
  • Food
  • Makeup
Daiso plans to open more stores in the U.S. this year as customers have shown their desire for more stores through online purchases and social media, Williams said.

The first two days the store is open, April 6-7, the first 100 customers to shop and spend at least $30 will receive a free goodie bag and plushie.
