The Hill Country Tasting Room and Event Space, located at 18992 FM 150 W., Ste. 101, Driftwood, announced May 22 that Elizabeth Van Huffel is the new owner. Van Huffel, who has over 20 years in the hospitality industry, is replacing past owners Jamie and Deepa Eveleigh, who left to focus on spending time at home with their children and on their careers, Van Huffel said.
“It’s an exciting time in Texas with award-winning wineries and breweries putting us on the map not only on a local level but on a national and international level and also to be a part of the growing female-owned businesses in the community,” Van Huffel said in a news release. “The Texas terrain combined with passionate people brings something really special to the beverage industry and I am thrilled to be able to share that in such a beautiful space.”
The tasting room opened in 2018, featuring an event space that can host up to 75 people. The tasting room offers beer, wine, mead and cider from Texas and a menu of charcuteries, cheeses and other light bites.
