Serasana opened its doors at 7717 Southwest Parkway, Bldg. 1, Unit 170, Austin, on Oct. 2.

The business is known for providing yoga, massages, acupuncture, reiki, cupping, facial rejuvenation, sound therapy and more.

One of the specialty services offered is 50-minute gua sha sessions for $120. Owner Kelly Kimbrough said gua sha is an ancient press-and-stroke technique used throughout Asia for centuries to improve circulation.

"It addresses stagnant energy, inflammation, and chronic pain and promotes healing," she said. "It is generally performed on the back, neck, arms and legs."

Another service offered is a 50-minute body cupping session, also for $120. Kimbrough said cups provide suction and negative pressure to loosen muscles and fascia, encourage blood flow and sedate the nervous system. It is used to relieve back and neck pain, stiff muscles, anxiety, fatigue, migraines, rheumatism and cellulite, she said.

A third specialty service offered is the 50-minute Reiki session for $120. Kimbrough said Reiki is an energy-healing practice that originated in Japan to help with stress reduction and relaxation.

"Therapists place their hands in a series of positions slightly above the body to balance energy and health," she said. "Reiki is based on the idea that if one's life force—or energy—is low, then one is more likely to get sick or feel stressed."

Massages range in price from $50-$170, depending on the type selected, and can include add-ons such as specialty oils for $10 more. Acupuncture starts at $42, and facial rejuvenation acupuncture is $170. There are also options to bundle packages and save up to 20% off when booked ahead.
