Some of the Jo's Coffee locations will host watch parties, including the South Congress, Red River, and Downtown locations, as all three are along the runners’ route.
According to a spokesperson for Jo's Coffee, the South Congress location, 1300 S. Congress Ave., will kick things off the morning of Feb. 19 from 7-9 a.m. to watch the runners clock their first mile. However, for those who do not want to get up that early, the Red River location, 1000 E. 41st St., will allow spectators to catch the last half of the races from 8:30-11 a.m. Jo's Coffee said for those who wish to see the runners at the finish line, the downtown location, 242 W. Second St., is a sure bet around lunchtime.
Jo's Coffee invites everyone to bring their own signs; however, there will be sign-making materials available for those who forget to bring their own.
“When a group of runners started forming at Jo’s, we were impressed—mainly by their ability to do anything before having a cup of coffee," said Jo's South Congress General Manager Carolyn Garlock. "We’re so proud of them for training for this race that we of course had to show our support. Since we can’t supply them with more Turbos while they are running, we figured cheering them on was the next best thing.”
