The gist
The route will begin to be offered May 31, 2024, and will run seasonally throughout August with twice-weekly service. Allegiant offers service out of the airport’s South Terminal, alongside Frontier Airlines.
“We are thrilled that Austin and Central Texas travelers will be able to fly direct to Eugene, Oregon, and are so grateful to Allegiant for their continued service to connecting our community to destinations across the country,” said Ghizlane Badawi, deputy chief executive officer of ABIA, in a news release.
This will join Allegiant's 18 other nonstop routes from ABIA. Tickets to Eugene can be purchased on Allegiant’s website.
Also of note
This announcement of a new route comes after American Airlines pulled 21 of its nonstop routes from ABIA amid a rapidly growing airport that has begun work on expansion projects.
The airport saw its busiest year ever in 2022, and officials project 2023 will surpass that record, with over half of ABIA’s busiest days on record having been recorded this year.
