E4 Youth, whose mission is to engage, empower, educate and employ young people of color, will celebrate the nonprofit's mentors on May 9 at its annual Showcase & Awards Gala.

In a nutshell

The awards gala is the nonprofit's largest fundraising event, and the money raised goes toward its Creative Leadership Academy, according to a news release.

Comprised of college-aged people of color, the academy trains and awards stipends to participants interested in the creative digital industries, such as digital media, advertising, marketing and more, according to the website.

Members also mentor high school-aged teens interested in those fields.
