The full modernization project, part of Austin ISD’s 2022 bond, will update the campus to include collaborative and flexible learning spaces, as well as outdoor learning areas. The project will also include a new gym, cafeteria, library, an administrative area, dedicated spaces for mental health and wellness, and more.
The project is estimated to cost $39.93 million to fund the modernization, according to district documents. Langford Elementary will receive upgraded technology and equipment as part of the bond.
During the modernization construction, school activities will be moved to Palm Elementary School until the Langford campus opens, set for 2027, a news release said.

The groundbreaking follows 13 other ceremonies for AISD’s bond projects, according to a news release.
AISD Superintendent Matias Segura, District 2 trustee LaRessa Quintana, district staff, Langford Elementary students and staff were in attendance at the event.
