From new restaurants to an expanding massage and recovery business, here are 14 local business stories Cedar Park residents should know about this month.
Sporting goods store MonkeySports is now open at The Crossover near the Cedar Park-Leander line, according to Adam Powell, general manager of The Crossover. MonkeySports sells athletic equipment with a focus on hockey, lacrosse and baseball, according to the company's website. The store sells gear for men's, women's and youth sports, as well as other sports-related clothing and merchandise, according to previous Community Impact reporting.

There is a new indoor playground and children’s gym with a Christian focus. Strong Sprouts is a place to “play, pray, gather and grow,” said David Fiori, who owns the business with his wife Stephanie. In addition to the gym and playground, Strong Sprouts will have a cafe and a dedicated private event space for birthday parties, Bible studies and more, David Fiori said.
Sangam Chettinad serves authentic Indian food, more specifically, cuisine of the Chettinad region of Tamil Nadu, according to the restaurant’s website. The expansive menu includes an assortment of vegetarian and non-vegetarian soups, Biryani, Indo-Chinese and tiffin combinations. Additionally, Sangam’s authentic entrees include meals like Chettinad egg masala and Karaikudi nattu kozhi varuval.

The Indian grocery store chain opened a new location in Cedar Park. The company, which started in Chicago more than 50 years ago, now has locations across the country and is the largest Indian grocery chain in the country, according to the company’s website. Patel Brothers specializes in authentic South Asian regional grocery products and spices.
Birds Barbershop opened a new location on West Parmer Lane in Austin. The full-service salon and barbershop offers haircuts, coloring, trims and more. Clients can get short cuts for hair lengths above the chin, which include a razor neck shave; long cuts for lengths below the chin, such as bobs and long layers; skin fades; buzz cuts and other options. This is the 11th location for the Austin-based business. The shop allows appointments, same-day bookings and walk-ins.
Austin-based florist Malina Flowers is coming soon to Cedar Park and is expected to open at the end of November, owner Marina Allen said. The Cedar Park store marks the second Malina Flowers location in the Austin area, with the first along Burnet Road. The business specializes in custom floral arrangements with same-day delivery.

Kilwins
Confectionery chain Kilwins is set to open a new location in Cedar Park, according to paperwork filed with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation. Renovations to prepare the space will cost an estimated $350,000 and are set to be completed in May 2027, according to the filing. Kilwins is known for its chocolates, fudge, ice cream and other sweet treats. The Michigan-based confectionery chain has nearly 200 locations across the country, including stores in Austin and Georgetown, according to the company's website.

The drive-through coffee chain is planning a new location on Whitestone Boulevard. Plans filed with the state indicate the company expects to spend $400,000 to build the new coffee shop. Construction is slated to begin in October and wrap up in December. The chain’s coffee shops sell a wide variety of drinks, including coffee, tea, energy drinks, soda, smoothies and more.
The fashion brand’s outlet store is headed to The Parke shopping center. The store will sell a variety of clothing for men, women and children. Renovations to prepare the space for its new use will cost around $650,000, according to a TDLR filing.
The dental practice is coming to the Shops at Cypress Creek, according to a TDLR filing. Interior build-out of the office is expected to cost $350,000, the filing states. Airway Dentists offers general dentistry as well as specialized care focusing on breathing, sleep and long-term health, the company’s website states.
The Hotworx location on Whitestone Boulevard in Cedar Park is under new ownership. New owners Tina and Cory Folts of Liberty Hill took over the studio in May and plan to host a "grand reopening" party Nov. 7. The reopening party, which will run from 10 a.m. to noon, will feature prizes, giveaways, samples and tours of the studio, Tina Folts said. Hotworx is a fitness studio that offers yoga, Pilates, cycling and other workouts, all in an infrared sauna, according to the company's website. Its studios are open 24/7 with classes led by instructional videos.
Walmart in Cedar Park is set for remodeling in 2027, company spokesperson Kim Cooper told Community Impact. The renovations will cost more than $3 million, a filing with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation states. The store will not be closed during the renovation, and construction will happen after hours, Cooper said.
The business moved to a larger suite in the same shopping center, owners Rachael and Michael Gagnon said. The move allowed them the space to add a specialized recovery suite offering pulsed electromagnetic field therapy, localized cryotherapy, a full-body red light chamber and BOA MAX 2 compression therapy. Blackbird also offers a wide variety of massages as well as esthetic services.
Dog Haus’s two Cedar Park-area locations are now closed. A sign posted on the door of the location at Whitestone Boulevard and Ronald Reagan Boulevard Sept. 28 said the locks had been changed due to unpaid rent.
