What to know
Kappo Kappo is a collaboration between designer Kelly Wearstler and twin chefs Haru and Gohei Kishi. The restaurant will offer a chef-driven tasting experience combining Japanese kappo cuisine and French technique, according to a news release.
Translating to “cut and cook,” kappo is a dining style rooted in seasonality, connection and trust in the chef with each course prepared and served directly in front of the guest.
The specifics
The concept will feature an intimate experience with only 25 seats and a 15-seat chef’s counter surrounding an open kitchen.
Diners will have the opportunity to enjoy an 11-course tasting menu which includes eight savory dishes and three desserts. Courses will highlight kappo-style wagyu and seafood which guests can pair with sake, wine, beer and cocktails.
