North Austin taco truck Discada, known for its “cowboy-wok cooking,” has relocated from its seven-year home in the Rosewood neighborhood to a new location along East Cesar Chavez Street.

A closer look

Co-owned by Anthony Pratto and Xose Velasco, the taco truck will continue selling its slow-cooked discada tacos just outside the eastside bar Chalmers.

Discada is a dish originating from northern Mexico, getting its name from the tradition of using a plow disc repurposed from old tractor equipment.

The dish can include a collection of staple meats, including flank steak, bacon, ham, sausage and chorizo cooked with onion, peppers, tomatoes and sometimes pineapple.
