The background

The first Citizens location opened in New York in 2016 by co-founders Justin Giuffrida and Andrew Geisel.

“There’s something a little magical about Aussie cafe culture—it’s laid-back, vibrant and full of unexpected flavor,” Geisel said in a statement.
