Sizzling North Austin Tex-Mex restaurant Mama Betty’s has sparked plans for another location on Burnet Road, set to serve up fajitas and margaritas by summer 2025.

A closer look

Owner Jason Carrier opened the original location on Parmer Lane in March 2022 in honor of his late mother, Betty Carrier, a single mother who owned and operated a Mexican restaurant in Houston.

“Mama Betty's is named after [my mother], but is a tribute to all mothers—all women who put their family first and have the ‘whatever it takes’ approach,” the website states.

The new location is expected to offer the same menu items, featuring Tex-Mex favorites, such as quesadillas, enchiladas and homemade tortillas, as well as in-house specials like Snapper Vera Cruz.

For those looking to pair a cocktail with dinner, the drink menu boasts an assortment of margaritas as well as other signature cocktails and beer options.
