California-based Mian & Bao is now serving Chinese noodles, dumplings and street-style food in north Austin.

The Asian restaurant features cuisines from Shanghai and the Sichuan province of China. Featured dishes include spicy Sichuan foods like spicy Chinese noodles and the milder, savory Shanghai-style soup dumplings. Chengdu style fries — traditional fries topped with traditional Sichuan-style seasonings — and spicy jelly noodles are new additions to the menu.

The restaurant is owned by head chef and CEO Tony Xu and managing partner Sean Xie, who is from the province of Sichuan. Xu and Xie started Mian concept restaurants and Chengdu Taste which have various locations across the United States.
