The Flower Shop Austin is inspired by classic Midwestern diner and pub culture. It includes a ground-floor dining area, cocktail lounge and beer garden; a private bar and deck on the second floor; and a rooftop patio with downtown views inspired by 50s- and 60s-era hotel pool bars. Onsite parking lots will also be used to host special events outside.
What they offer
On the menu, The Flower Shop Austin offers signature dishes like the roasted cauliflower steak with quinoa and egg, deviled eggs with wasabi, and oysters with yuzu mignonette sauce alongside traditional bar fare like chicken wings and fish and chips. Cocktails, beer and wine are also served. The East Austin location features mid- to late-1900s decor and was designed by locally-based Fox Fox Studio. The multi-story space is the first Texas venture from Eldridge, which launched The Flower Shop's original location in New York seven years ago. Operators Ronnie Flynn and Dylan Hales said they hope The Flower Shop Austin can serve as a "home base" for patrons in the area.
"We're excited to be able to bring and hopefully recreate that feeling of a cool, fun, nostalgic spot that you can run into the who's who of the neighborhood as well as a place to pop into on your travels knowing you will run into a familiar face or at least make a new friend... that friendly neighborhood joint where everyone is welcome, wherever that neighborhood may be," the pair said in a statement.
