After eight years, Ah Sing Den, an East Austin bar inspired by a Victorian London-era opium den, has closed to make way for a new restaurant.

OKO, a project from Trinity Concepts and FAM Hospitality Group, will take its place and serve Filipino food with Texas influences this fall. New York chef Harold Villarosa, who was born in the Philippines, will helm the restaurant.

The details

The menu will include:
  • Filipino-style ceviche
  • Texas oysters with pinakurat—spicy Filipino coconut vinegar
  • Lumpiang Sariwa
  • Chicken Inasal
The drinks menu will focus on rum and agave cocktails.
