A food truck offering a taste of Maryland crab cakes and pit beef sandwiches opened doors in East Austin in April.

The Marylander is nestled in the Webberville Food Truck Park next to Kerlaches, Doughminican, Veracruz and Desnudo Coffee.

On the menu

The Marylander has no shortage of crab offerings, including creamy crab dip; crab cakes broiled in butter; a crab cake sandwich served on a Texas French Bread sweet roll; and Crabs Benedict finished with a poached egg, hollandaise sauce and chives.

The menu also includes brined and fried chicken wings as well as a pit beef sandwich with thinly sliced beef and onions, horseradish or barbecue sauce, and Old Bay seasoning.

Quote of note

“Maryland cuisine really is its own thing, and I knew if I did this, the Austin Marylanders would appreciate it because we love our state almost as much as Texans do,” Owner Rayden Timple said.
