Looking back
Originally from Louisiana, Huynh and his daughter, Ava, moved to Austin in 2019 to be near family and expand Huynh’s career in the industry.
Huynh said the early days of Muse were filled with long hours due to a worker shortage following the pandemic.
“We had only four employees when we started,” Huynh said. “We had to really roll up our sleeves and hope the community would embrace us and our unique offerings.”
What’s special about it?
Huynh and his team make their sauces in-house and work to find the freshest ingredients while keeping costs to a minimum for the customer. Due to the limited space inside the restaurant, Muse offers take-out and online ordering options, in addition to dine-in seating.
“Our restaurant is small but mighty,” Huynh said. “Our prices are unmatched for the quality, variety and service we provide.”
What's on the menu?
Muse offers a variety of options from sushi rolls to sashimi, bento boxes and Japanese-style dishes, with an array of boba drinks, fresh limeades, teas and more.
Huynh said he has been developing his skills since finding himself in the kitchen at age 12, when he discovered food can be a true artistic expression of the maker.
“I love focusing on detail, flavor, pairing and presentation to create something unique,” Huynh said. “It is my wish that our customers will always experience our care and commitment through our food.”
