Lazydaze Coffeehouse


The unique coffeehouse specializes in cannabidiol, or CBD, oils—a naturally occurring compound derived from the hemp plant—offering the oils as a shot that can be injected into coffee drinks. The cafe also sells vaping accessories, hemp products, candles, apparel and more. The company has two other locations in South Austin and Pflugerville Lazy Daze and both are licensed consumption lounges.In the news

Tzintzuntzan

The team behind long-standing North Austin Mexican restaurant Fonda San Miguel has pushed back the opening of its new concept, Tzintzuntzan, which was originally slated to debut this spring. The new restaurant will remain rooted in its authentic Mexican flavor, serving breakfast and lunch menu items. The establishment will also feature a panaderia and unique ice cream menu.

Cavender’s

James and Patricia Cavender founded Cavender’s Boot City in 1965, back then offering just three styles of boots in their small East Texas town. After 60 years, Cavender’s have opened across the nation, with 100 stores in 15 states, including two locations in Austin.Closings


The Brass Tap

The Brass Tap has closed its location at The Triangle in North Austin. The craft beer bar and eatery had previously taken over what was formerly Flying Saucer Draught Emporium in August 2023, with the taproom announcing its final day of business less than two years later in mid-April 2025. However, the Round Rock location remains open, offering more than 60 draft beers, wine, cocktails, a full food menu and a spacious outdoor patio.Stinson’s

Tenured coffee and taco bar Stinson’s has shuttered its North Austin location on the corner of 45th Street and Burnet Road this month, announcing that the concept will be reopening in a nearby food trailer. The new trailer is currently working though the final details of permitting with the city of Austin and is expected to be open to the public within a couple of weeks.Luv Fats

The unique creamery has closed its North Austin location, stating on a social media post the company will be raising money to relocation in the future. Luv Fats was known for its ice cream made from coconut milk and avocados, rather than dairy products. Owned by Austin local Chi Ndika, the sweet flavors were inspired by Ndika’s Kenyan and Nigerian heritage.Paprika


The taco truck that has served the Highland neighborhood for the past five years has closed as owner Margarito Perez prepares to open the concept’s first brick-and-mortar location nearby its former spot on North Lamar Boulevard. Perez said the new taqueria, at 6539 N. Lamar Blvd., Austin, will provide a gathering space for the community and offer better protection from the elements.
