Allday Pizza

The pizza joint opened its third location in Hyde Park in early December. The restaurant offers a variety of pizzas, from classic pepperoni, a spicy Margherita pizza and the “Sweet Sausage” topped with crumbled sausage, soppressata and Calabrian honey. The menu also includes salads, soft serve, other desserts and more. Other locations can be found in Tarrytown and East Austin. The new location replaces the old Hyde Park Post Office.Club Pilates Allendale

An exercise franchise under Xponential Fitness, Club Pilates brings boutique fitness options to the Allendale neighborhood in North Austin. The new pilates studio offers classes for all experience levels, including an intro class, muscle and stamina building class, and cross-training class geared for teens. ATOS North Austin

The Brazilian jiujitsu gym will offer self-defense-oriented classes for children age 3 and up and adults. The gym's head instructor will be Kim Ramires, an award-winning jiujitsu black belt from Brazil.QQ Barbershop North Lamar

Situated in the mixed-use retail and commercial hub known as Commerce Square on North Lamar, QQ Barbershop is slated to open a second location in early February. Co-owners Luis Pena and Manuel Osuna opened their original Pflugerville location in 2022. The newest installment will continue to feature the partner’s work and services, including traditional and modern haircuts, beard trims, hot towel shaves and more.Mama Betty’s

Sizzling North Austin Tex-Mex restaurant Mama Betty’s has sparked plans for another location on Burnet Road, set to serve up fajitas and margaritas by summer 2025.The new location is expected to offer the same menu items, featuring Tex-Mex favorites, such as quesadillas, enchiladas and homemade tortillas, as well as in-house specials such as Snapper Vera Cruz.

Expansions


Lima Criolla Peruvian Restaurant

The North Austin restaurant expanded its kitchen to include a new oven for cooking pollo a la brasa, or Peruvian rotisserie chicken. Owner and General Manager Susana Vivanco said the expansion “completes” the Peruvian cultural offerings at Lima Criolla.Flow Yoga

An Austin-born wellness brand, Flow Yoga is expected to complete expansion efforts at its North Austin studio to encompass more room for community classes and events. The company focuses on creating accessible space for community members to manage stress and health, offering yoga, sound healing, monthly free wellness classes and more.In the news

Veranda Cafe and Mercantile


Previously known as Toastique—which opened earlier this year—the cafe now sports a new name after the owners left the national franchise. The space features many cafe favorites, such as avocado toasts, bagels, smoothies and coffee, as well as a variety of home goods, including candles, pillows, glassware and more.

DAM-A

The former ChoSun Galbi Korean BBQ restaurant is rebranding to DAM-A, which will focus on do-it-yourself spring rolls, as well as individual hot pot and Korean barbecue. Guests will be able to create their own spring rolls with rice paper and their choice of fillings. The restaurant will also offer various broths and meats for guests to participate in hot pot cooking and cooking Korean barbecue. ChoSun closed in late November to prepare for the launch of DAM-A, set to open mid-January.
