Desnudo Coffee


Local roaster Desnudo Coffee opened a second location outside Fareground Austin. Desnudo serves a variety of coffee products sourced from farmers in Colombia, and its original location off Webberville Road also hosts community events such as weekly yoga lessons and a running club.Neighbourhood Café




Belfast-based Neighbourhood Café—co-ownered by Oisin McEvoy and Ryan Crown—launched in Austin next to its partner bar The Dead Rabbit. The cafe serves coffee and tea drinks, with specialties like the iced tiramisu and freddo cappuccino. The menu also includes pastries, all-day breakfast and several lunch items. Cocktails and nonalcoholic drinks developed in partnership with The Dead Rabbit team will also be served.Y Comida

For a limited time only, Y Comida will be serving up creative South Texas small plates at the Ellis in downtown Austin. The temporary restaurant in the downtown food hall Fareground will serve dishes with a part-Mexican, part-Cajun flair through the end of 2024.Addie Rose




The local women’s boutique and gift shop from owner Patty Hatton opened a second location downtown. Addie Rose first opened in 2021 at 3740 Far West Blvd., Austin.Coming soon

From the same owners of barbecue truck Distant Relatives, Linx will offer sausages, sides and sandwiches in a new truck next to local dive bar Mean Eyed Cat.

Mean Eyed Cat

Johnny Cash-themed dive bar Mean Eyed Cat will celebrate its 20th anniversary in September, with an all-day event featuring live music. The dive bar is currently owned by Matt Luckie, Max Moreland and Jed Thompson.SXSW Center




The 13-story home of the South by Southwest Conference and Festival headquarters reached the 5-year anniversary mark in July at its location downtown. More than 44,000 square feet of space is currently available for other tenants on both the 7th and 9th floors. The rooftop is also available for event rental space.The W Austin

Downtown hotel the W is undergoing renovations which will include the opening of 3 new restaurants and bars. This will include French restaurant Serenade, reservations-only cocktail bar Blue Room and a cafe dubbed 2nd and Roast. Renovations are expected to be complete in October.Closings

Club Eternal

After two years in business, the venue announced an “indefinite hiatus” after their final event Aug. 2. Club Eternal hosted events Wednesday through Sunday featuring dance music but did not operate a bar, relying instead on ticket and merchandise sales.
