Out of the Closet Thrift Stores buys and sells second-hand clothes, home goods and furniture.
General STD testing is available Monday through Friday from 10 a.m.-7 p.m., and HIV testing is available on Saturdays from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. or on a first-come, first-served basis. A majority of the proceeds are donated to fund HIV care and treatment within the community.
Zooming out
While the shop has opened and is operational, officials said they hope to have a grand opening in August.
The organization has other locations in California, Washington, Illinois, Ohio, New York, Louisiana, Florida and Texas, but this is the first location in Austin.
