Upcoming elections asking voters, among several other initiatives, if they want to finance nearly $50 million in large-scale projects in the city of Kyle have been reorganized regarding how they will appear on the Nov. 3 ballot.

Kyle City Council approved a resolution organizing its upcoming bond and charter elections during the Sept. 1 meeting.

Officials have previously called for a bond election that has two propositions, A and B, and a charter election that has five propositions, A through E.

The resolution effectively provided that the propositions for the bond election will appear before those of the charter election on the ballot, and renames the charter propositions C through G instead of A through E.

Bond Proposition A will ask voters if they want to fund a proposed 64,000-square-foot Public Safety Center for $37 million. Proposition B seeks voter approval to finance $10 million for property acquisition toward a regional sportsplex and festival grounds for the city.

The charter amendments, if passed, include a number of changes, from requiring consent for the city to annex land to subjecting police department policies and procedures to review by City Council.
