Turnout in the Jan. 25 election was relatively low, with only 139 votes cast, according to unofficial results from Hays County. Tobias garnered 97 of those votes, or 69.78%, while Heindl had 42, or 30.22%.
“I would like to thank my family and friends for encouraging me throughout this incredible experience,” Tobias wrote on his Facebook page. “I was blessed with an amazing campaign team that worked tirelessly toward my election and am eternally grateful. We are experiencing exciting times in the City of Kyle and I look forward to representing District 6.”
Tenorio said at the Jan. 21 City Council meeting that the upcoming Feb. 4 meeting would be her last.
Results remain unofficial until canvassed.
