Several projects to improve drainage in flood-prone areas in San Marcos are nearing the finish line. The projects mark the city’s effort to improve flood mitigation following two 2015 floods that damaged hundreds of homes.

Completed projects

Uhland Road Improvement Project

San Marcos crews completed the Uhland Road Improvement Project after over two years of construction Sept. 29. The project fully reconstructed Uhland and County Roads to city standards and added drainage improvements. Crews installed a 6- to 10-foot sidewalk along Uhland Road for bike and pedestrian traffic and added a roundabout at the intersection of Uhland and River Roads for safety.
