Construction was scheduled to begin Sept. 28 on a $21.9 million project that includes a reconstruction of the northbound I-35 frontage road between RM 150 and Kyle Crossing in San Marcos. New extended lanes will be added between entrance and exit ramps, and a new frontage road bridge will be built over Plum Creek. Northbound I-35 entrance and exit ramps will be reversed as well. Construction on the project—funded by the Texas Department of Transportation and the Capital Area Metropolitan Planning Organization—is expected to be complete in early 2022, weather permitting.
