A’dri Gonzales said she has a plan to inspire Kyle and Buda families to be fit—one mother at a time.
Gonzales is the team leader and organizer for the Moms in Motion Kyle/Buda team. The national fitness corporation aims to empower mothers through philanthropy, fitness and social events, according to its website.
She said by inspiring moms to lead healthy and active lifestyles, Moms in Motion is also helping the broader community because moms are vital to family health.
“Our children, if they see us exercising and eating right, they will want to do it, too,” Gonzales said. “Moms have a very big impact on their families and how healthy they are.”
The group, which participates in fitness events, such as 5K races, trains three days a week for eight weeks at a time. The Kyle/Buda group meets Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays at 7:30 a.m., Gonzales said. She said the group is for women of all abilities.
The eight weeks lead up to a fitness event. For the Kyle/Buda group’s first event, members will run a 5K in San Antonio.
As part of the philanthropic aspect of the organization, Moms in Motion Kyle/Buda is planning to begin an annual fundraiser for the PAWS Shelter of Central Texas in Kyle, Gonzales said.
