The most recent data compiled by the Four Rivers Association of Realtors showed median home prices in Kyle and Buda decreased year over year from April 2023 to April 2024. In San Marcos, however, median home sales prices increased by just over 4% to $395,000.

The gist

Kyle's median home price fell by nearly 4% in April. Buda's median price fell by over 16% in the same time frame to $367,000.

At the same time, the average number of days homes spent on the market decreased in all three cities.

The number of homes sold in San Marcos decreased by nearly 15%, according to the data. Kyle saw just over a 27% increase in homes sold year over year in April, with Buda having the exact same sales as last April.

The average home price over the last six months in all three cities remained above $350,000. San Marcos’ average was the highest of the three, clocking in at $414,596.
In April, there were 158 homes sold in San Marcos, Buda and Kyle within the $300,000-$499,999 price range.
Compared to April 2023, the number of homes under contract in San Marcos decreased by nearly 29% in April 2024. In Kyle, however, homes under contract increased by nearly 30% in the same time frame.
