Voters in Hays County will decide on a $75 million-$80 million bond during the Nov. 3 election. The proposal includes 16 parks projects throughout the county, including six in the San Marcos area and one in Kyle.
The Hays County Parks and Open Spaces Advisory Committee, or POSAC, presented the bond to Hays County Commissioners Court on July 28. On Aug. 13, the court voted 4-1 in favor of the election, with Precinct 1 Commissioner Debbie Ingalsbe casting the sole dissenting vote due to economic concerns centered around the coronavirus.
