Room 2 Hope: Group creates calming rooms for abuse victims

Across 2019 and 2019, Denise Fonseca spent what felt like countless hours in a sparsely furnished waiting room at the Hays County Government Center while she waited to testify against her alleged abuser. Read more

Buda’s Brightside provides ample growth opportunities for area’s special needs population

At any given time during operating hours at Buda’s Brightside, attendees may be tending to a garden, working on addition or subtraction, playing retro Atari video games or dancing with friends and staff to Selena’s "Bidi Bidi Bom Bom," among other music. Read more

Kids Tooth Team founders receive donation from St. David’s Foundation to help underserved children in rural communities

Dr. Alex Otto and her husband, Tim, founded Kids Tooth Team in Buda in September 2020, and even before they owned their private practice, the couple knew they wanted to do charity work and provide free dental assistance to children in need with limited access in rural counties. In 2019, they received their 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization designation for Kids Tooth Team Outreach. Read more
