The first day of early voting brought a total of 929 people to the polls, with 448 Hays County residents casting votes for the Democratic Party and 481 residents casting votes for the Republican party, according to voting data provided by Hays County Elections Administrator Jennifer Anderson.
More mail-in ballots for the Democratic party than the Republican party were received. Out of the 878 ballot-by-mail entries received, 524 were cast for the Democratic Party and 354 were cast for the GOP.
The Wimberley Community Center, 14068 RR 12, Wimberley, reported the highest number of early voting ballots at 248, with 149 cast for the Republican party.
