Effective at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Guadalupe County gave a voluntary evacuation issuance for residents living along the following rivers and creeks:

  • Guadalupe River

  • San Marcos River

  • Cibolo Creek

  • Geronimo Creek


The Guadalupe County Texas Emergency Management and Fire Marshal said the area is expecting up to three inches of rain per hour.



Flood advisories are in effect for the counties of Travis, Guadalupe, Hays, Comal and Caldwell.

The National Weather Service reported that as of 9:30 a.m. Saturday, total rainfall accumulations associated with Hurricane Harvey range from one inch to as much as seven inches in the area.

The city of San Marcos is also under a tropical storm warning. The city's joint Emergency Operations Center, which works in conjunction with Hays County, is fully open. San Marcos Police Chief Chase Stapp told Community Impact Newspaper very few weather-related calls have been received thus far.



Since midnight Friday, the Blanco River in Kyle had received 2.06 inches of rain, according to the Lower Colorado River Authority.
