Motorists in south San Marcos will have to take an alternate route if they were planning to take the exit for McCarty Lane on northbound I-35 this weekend.
The exit ramp will be closed beginning at noon Friday through 8 p.m. Saturday to aid traffic flow during tax-free shopping weekend.
The outlet malls, which are located one exit south of McCarty Lane on Centerpoint Road, can cause heavy traffic during tax-free weekend.
