Ed Mihalkanin leads Gaylord Bose, Jason Dalton Montgomery and Brian Henderson in political donations so far this election season, according to the latest round of campaign finance reports due to election officials Tuesday.
Every opposed candidate in the Nov. 8 election must file a contributions and expenditures report 30 days before the election. This latest round of reports, the first mandated disclosure since this summer, covers all financials from July 1 to Sept. 29, according to the Texas Ethics Commission.
Here is how much donation money each candidate has earned and spent for the Place 3 race during that timeframe:
Mihalkanin: $4,450 contributions, $2,909.80 expenditures Contributions to Mihalkanin's campaign include $200 from former San Marcos Mayor Kathy Morris; $1,000 from New Braunfels-based political consultant Christian Archer; and $1,000 from himself.
Bose: $1,726 contributions, $2,720.93 expenditures Contributions to Bose's campaign include $200 from San Marcos residents T.H. and J.C. Tidwell. Each of the seven contributions made to Bose's campaign above $50 were made by people listing San Marcos as their home address.
Montgomery: $202.88 contributions, $194.74 expenditures Montgomery's filing listed four contributions received during the filing period.
Henderson: $0 contributions, $64 expenditures Henderson's campaign did not receive any contributions during the reporting period.
The next campaign finance report deadline is Oct. 31, or eight days before the election.
