1. Aquarena Springs Drive overpass


The city of San Marcos is partnering with the Texas Department of Transportation to construct an overpass on Aquarena Springs Drive over the Union Pacific Corp. railroad tracks in San Marcos. The overpass will feature two travel lanes in each direction as well as access roads on both sides of the overpass. Contractors were widening the access roads in early August.
Timeline: June 2015-late 2017
Cost: $20.7 million

2. Goforth Road expansion


Work on Goforth Road, which will be expanded to include two-three lanes in areas between I-35 and Bunton Creek Road, began in April. The portion from Brent Boulevard to Steeplechase Boulevard is expected to open to traffic by Aug. 22. Because of utility conflicts and weather delays, construction on the portion from Brent to South Elmhurst Drive has been delayed.

3. Bunton Creek Road updates


The city of Kyle plans to reconstruct the 1-mile portion of Bunton Creek Road from I-35 to Lehman Road. The project was put out to bid in July, and the contract was awarded to Aaron Concrete Contractors.
Timeline: September 2016-September 2017

4. FM 150 improvements


In June, TxDOT awarded a contract to Relmco Inc. to add sidewalks and bicycle lanes to the span of FM 150 in Kyle from Center Street to Silverado Drive.

5. Hwy. 123 overpass


TxDOT is building an overpass on Hwy. 123 over Wonder World Drive in San Marcos. The project aims to improve safety and mobility in the area. TxDOT expects to have a bridge deck poured by late August.
