The San Marcos Activity Center celebrated its 25th anniversary June 30. The activity center, located at 501 E. Hopkins St., San Marcos, was approved by voters in a $5.3 million bond election May 1994 and opened to the public in 1997. The center expanded in 2001 by nearly 4,000 square feet and recently reopened in May following a seven-month closure due to flooding. The center offers a variety of classes, in person and virtual, and members have access to basketball courts, aerobics studio rooms, an indoor swimming pool and more.
