New carpet and other flooring, sheetrock and doors were installed throughout the facility, located at 501 E. Hopkins St., according to a press release.
The city paid out an insurance deductible of $2,500 of what amounted to a total of $2.5 million in repairs for the project. The Texas Municipal League Intergovernmental Risk Pool is in the process of assessing the cause of the pipe failure.
The city suspended membership payments in October, and automatic payments will resume being drafted June 1, according to the release.
“We are excited to welcome our members and guests back to the San Marcos Activity Center. We appreciate everyone’s patience as we worked to reconstruct our building,” said Jamie Lee Case, assistant director of parks and recreation for the city.
Beginning May 2, hours of operation will be Mon.-Thu. 6 a.m.-9 p.m., Fri. 6 a.m.-7 p.m., Sat. 10 a.m.-5 p.m. and closed Sun.
