AquaBrew, located at 110 E. MLK Drive, Ste. 130, San Marcos, announced Jan. 4 a merger with ShotGun Seltzer, the first craft seltzer of Texas. AquaBrew, founded in 2016 by Carlos Russo, started out as a pub in San Marcos. In 2021, it relocated into its current facility, which includes a 20,000-square-foot production floor.

Lori and Brad Foster founded ShotGun Seltzer in 2019 with over 20 years of experience in the industry. Initially, they were partnered with other breweries that were unable to meet the demand of ShotGun Seltzer. Lori Foster said they knew that eventually they would have to build their own brewery, buy one or partner with one that could handle their rising demand.

The partnership was mutually beneficial and gave each company the opportunity to capitalize on the other’s strengths.

“For us, AquaBrew was a perfect fit. It was a way for us to control our own destiny by gaining ownership in a brewing facility with the capacity we needed to properly grow the brand,” Lori Foster said in a press release.
