Tracy and Mike Koleber opened the first center in Cedar Park in 2007 before opening a second location four years later in Bee Cave. They said they felt as though the Austin area had a shortage of pools and that they could bridge that gap.
“When we built Nitro Cedar Park, I thought that was it. I didn’t really have aspirations of building more locations,” Tracy Koleber said.
However, Tracy Koleber was involved in the United States Swim School Association, which had a facility in Fort Wayne that the couple ended up purchasing. They went on to convert it into a Nitro Swim instructional facility.
Both coming from competitive swimming backgrounds, the couple could not imagine their Kyle facility not having both instructional and competitive swimming, she said.
The new center will feature an instructional pool with five 25-yard swimming lanes and an Olympic-size pool with 24 25-yard lanes and 10 50-meter lanes for competitions. www.nitroswim.com
