Sage Plum Creek, a new 185-unit community for active seniors age 55 and older, is under construction at 1075 Vaughn in Kyle. The community is expected to open early 2022 with the first move-ins set to begin in March and a number of units already preleased. The 185 units will vary from 615 square feet to 1,285 with eight different floor plans. The community will be for those who are 55 and older and still fully independent. O’Reilly will open a new location in January on FM 1626 near the Buda Sportsplex. The new facility is currently under construction and will be approximately 8,000 square feet. Once open, the store will offer a variety of vehicle parts such as car batteries and brakes as well as accessories such as protective gear and first aid kids. www.oreillyauto.com

QuikTrip will open a new location in spring 2022 at Robert S. Light Boulevard and I-35 in Buda. The new facility will be approximately 7300 square feet with gas and diesel pumps for cars and semitrailer trucks. Anniversaries


Rising Phoenix Martial Arts will celebrate its five-year anniversary Oct. 3. The martial arts studio, which opened in 2016 at 402 S. N. Old Hwy. 81 in Kyle, teaches children from as young as 3 1/2 through adulthood. Community

The city of Buda and Texas Disposal Systems have expanded waste and recycling services that are available to residents. Expanded services include recycling of large plastic items, scrap metal, Christmas trees and holiday lights in January biweekly. Additionally, TDS can now pick up and discard mattresses for a fee. A new program, Bag-the-Bag, is now available to help residents easily recycle plastic bags and can pick up the necessary yellow bag for free at the utility windows at the Buda Municipal Building. www.texasdisposalsystems.com
