Inspired Minds Arts Center, located at 121 Main St., Buda, in the former City Hall building, held its grand opening Jan. 25. The new space was created to support local artists and provide classes for various types of art, such as drawing, ceramics, photography, painting, textiles and more. It will also house the nonprofit community theater group Hill Country Theater.

Other than art classes, Inspired Minds Arts Center will provide gallery space for local artists, primarily for Hays County. Co-owners Susan Guerra and Sinead Whiteside said they are excited to provide a space for artists and the community to create art.

“Artists have been doing their artwork in the garage or doing it in the kitchen—and not connected to the greater community around them—and didn’t even know that other artists existed within this small area,” Guerra said.

Whiteside said that the center would be a way to bring people together and facilitate art in the community. 512-537-3987.
