The Hays County Local Health Department will host a community visioning session March 1 at 2 p.m. at the San Marcos Public Library, 625 E. Hopkins St., Ste. 105, San Marcos, as part of a community health assessment conducted by Initium Health. The commissioners awarded a contract to Initium Heath for the community health assessment in October to create a health improvement plan.

The visioning session at the public library will gather input from residents of all ages to develop an understanding of what issues may need to be addressed and how to do so, according to a press release from the county.

"We want our residents to be part of shaping our health outcomes in the county for years to come," local health department Director Tammy Crumley said in the release. "Participants will discuss how they view health and offer ideas for making things better for all county residents."

There will be other opportunities in the coming months for residents to share their input and experiences surrounding health.

Residents can also visit the Healthy Hays website to share any feedback.
