The city of Buda’s Transportation Mobility Master Plan, or TMMP, details active transportation projects throughout the community and guides the development of future projects. The City Council approved an update to the plan during an April 7 meeting.
The whole story
The 2026 TMMP update reflects the current conditions of city roads, provides updates to transportation project cost estimates and details additional project needs that will direct city planning and growth, according to a Buda news release.
New projects and updated street jurisdictions are outlined in the 2026 plan as well. The TMMP is closely aligned with the city’s Engineering Transportation Criteria Manual to guarantee consistency in design standards, according to the release.
The manual is a set of guidelines for designing, constructing and maintaining transportation infrastructure in the city and extraterritorial jurisdiction.
The TMMP provides details on a variety of road projects, including improvements to multiple downtown streets and updates on projects funded through the 2021 Buda Bond Project.
City staff held public meetings, Mobility Committee discussions and a City Council workshop during the process of updating the plan to gather community feedback, according to the release.
Going forward
While the plan identifies current and future transportation needs, it does not indicate that a project has received funding. Projects included in the TMMP may require future funding from sources such as bonds or partnerships.
The city launched a new webpage that allows residents to stay informed on roadway projects through trackers provided by Buda, Hays County and the Texas Department of Transportation.
