Kyle voters may see several propositions for amendments to the city charter on the ballot in November.
In a special City Council meeting July 24, the council approved over a dozen propositions to move forward.
At a glance
Starting in January, a charter review commission began reviewing all 13 articles of the Kyle city charter. Members of the commission were nominated by council members, the mayor or the mayor pro tem.
City Attorney Aimee Alcorn-Reed gave a presentation on the commission’s recommendations for amendments at the special meeting to discuss the rationale and receive feedback from the council.

Amendments range from council seat vacancies and recall petitions to clarifying charter language.

Based on the council’s direction, the approved propositions will come back for further discussion Aug. 5. At that time, the Kyle City Council members intend to call a special election Nov. 4.
