With the holidays coming to a close, here is how and where residents throughout San Marcos, Buda and Kyle can dispose of their Christmas trees and other holiday items.

Texas Disposal Systems customers can have their natural Christmas trees picked up and disposed of for free on regularly scheduled green waste pick-up days through Jan. 31. Trees must be cut into four inch pieces and must fit in green waste carts or left at the curb, depending on the city. Trees must also be free of lights, ornaments and any other materials.

Trees collected by TDS will be recycled and ground into mulch.

San Marcos residents can drop off their trees at the Grand Harris Building, located at 401 E. Hopkins St. through Jan. 12. Trees must be free of all lights and decorations.

Buda residents can drop off their Christmas lights to be recycled at the Buda Public Library, located at 405 E. Loop St. through Jan. 13.

The city of Kyle will not be offering any drop off locations for trees this year.
