Buda City Council is expected to authorize an interlocal agreement May 17 with Hays County for roadwork on Robert S. Light Boulevard from I-35 to South Loop 4. City and county officials hope to provide safe and well-maintained roadways, according to the agreement, and the project cost will be split evenly between Buda and Hays County.

The city and the county will each pay approximately $712,500 for the design, construction and engineering of the project.

If the city does sign onto the interlocal agreement, construction for the project is expected to begin in January 2023 and could be completed as early as May 2023.

Buda City Council will meet May 17 at city hall, located at 405 E. Loop St., Buda, at 6 p.m.
